Welcome to Inari, dear traveller!
Our domestic reindeer are waiting for you to come and meet them. They eat gently off your hand, love being photographed, and generally enjoy being the center of attention. We invite you to our home by the beautiful Lake Muddus, where my forefathers have fished for centuries. Today our oldest buildings date back to the 1940s, and in the summertime our yard is filled with flowers and colourful plants. I use many different kinds of plants for dyeing wool, and I will gladly share with you how this practice is done. In addition, you will see how shoe hay and traditional reindeer skin shoes are created. All of this, and much more, is a part of our daily lives. I can also tell you about past and present times in Inari over a cup of coffee and fresh home baked pastries and desserts. I offer one, two and three hours programmes, which you can read more about simply by scrolling down. We can alter the programmes according to your interests, and it is possible to organize events for larger groups as well. Please make a reservation beforehand so we can be sure that we and the reindeer are home before you visit! |
